I use Arch Linux on a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon with a Swedish keyboard. Here’s how to type curly quotation marks on this machine.
AltGr + bgives you opening double quote: “AltGr + ngives you closing double quote: ”AltGr + Shift + bgives you an opening single quote: ‘AltGr + Shift + ngives you an closing single quote: ’
Of course, using a decent font that takes care of quotation marks for you is also an option.
